As someone who shares her home with dogs, cats, and quite a few other animals, I know how important it is to use candles thoughtfully around our companions.
At Barking Dog Farm Candles, our candles are handcrafted using natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and fragrance oils formulated for candle making. But natural doesn’t automatically mean pet-safe.
I enjoy burning my candles at home, and I take precautions:
- Keep the room well ventilated.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of curious animals.
- Give pets the freedom to leave the room.
- Watch for signs of irritation, such as sneezing, coughing, or watery eyes. If you notice these signs, extinguish the candle and contact your veterinarian.
- Use extra caution around birds and animals with respiratory sensitivities.
Every animal is different, and no scented candle can be guaranteed safe for every pet. If you have concerns about your pet’s health or sensitivities, consult your veterinarian before burning scented candles.
Beautiful fragrances and thoughtful pet care can go hand in hand.
