A little care helps you enjoy your Barking Dog Farm candle safely. Always follow the instructions on your candle’s label.
Before you light
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. Remove wick trimmings, matches, and other debris from the wax.
- Place your candle upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, vents, and anything that can catch fire.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
While your candle is burning
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Keep burning candles at least 3 inches apart.
- Do not touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquid.
- Follow the maximum burn time printed on your candle’s label.
- Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too high, flickers repeatedly, or the container cracks.
When you are finished
- Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Never use water.
- Make sure the flame is completely out, and let the wax and container cool before handling or relighting.
- For container candles, stop burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains, or sooner if the label directs.
Storage
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the wax free of dust and debris.
